The 80's called....presenting Go-Go's!

While being born in '83 my memories of the 80's is filled with block-colored clothes, huge and preferably curly hairdos, and awesome music. Glee is today a very popular show (as most of us know) mostly thanks to the music. In all the seasons we get to enjoy great music from different decades, the 80's being one. "We Got The Beat" was sung in the 3rd season, with the all the Liberace pianos spread across the school, and it made me want to check out the original song (as many Glee songs do). In the video below, made the year before I was even born, we have Go-Go's with Belinda Carlisle as lead singer. This was an awesome band, only women, rocking and having a blast! Check out Belinda's dance moves, takes me back to Carlton on Fresh Prince of Bel Air :-) Enjoy!

Oh My! 7 things about myself

My dear friend Sascha, creator of coffee and heels, nominated me to an award. The challenge is to tell you, wonderful friends, 7 things about myself...aaaaahhhh! I decided to make them personal and some are kinda embarrassing hehe. Are you ready?? Enjoy!

1. I am scared of the dark and spook easily!

Yes, since my childhood I do not like the dark. It could have something to do with the fact that my imagination runs wild. If I'm in a room and you turn off the light, and I can't get out when I want to, I panic -- big time! I also get spooked ridiculously easy. Honestly, you don't even have to try that hard, all you have to do is talk in a normal tone with me and the slightest change I jump..hehe

2. I am paranoid that my zipper is open so I check it constantly :-)

When I was in 3 or 4th grade I performed (mimed Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You) at the school's talent show (that should have been embarrassing enough but no!!) After I was done all my friends told me how awesome I was until these 2 guys, one year older than me, walked up to me and said: "hey, great job but are you aware of the fact that your fly was open during the whole performance? And it still is?" I was mortified!! To add salt to the wounds I wore all black with white panties -- eek. So now every time I wear jeans or pants with a zipper, I always check em before leaving my house and throughout the day.

3. I have a hard time eating in front of a guy I like

(with my luck that would end up in my nose)

If you wanna ask me out on a date and I accept you should know I hate going out to dinners for a first date. I do not know the reason why I have a very hard time eating in front of my dates but I do. It could be because my nose starts running whenever I eat anything! According to a doctor I am one of those "blessed" people who has "taste buds" in my nose and as soon as I eat something I like it starts running (read drooling haha) but no worries, it's not in a gross way, just sounds like it haha. Or it could be because I am paranoid food will get stuck between my teeth and my date is too kind not to say anything or maybe even worse, he does say something (mortified!). Perhaps it is because I have to run to the bathroom as soon as I am done eating (my digestive system is awesome!!) and I have a hard time visiting public toilets (ok for number 1 but NEVER for number 2). Or maybe because I am VERY clumsy!! Yes, all girls say they are clumsy but trust me, I am! Ooor maybe it is all these reasons combined.

4. I cannot stand smacking or any annoying noises especially when eating

If there is anything that bothers me when eating it is to listen to someone smacking while chewing. Makes my skin crawl. Another annoying noise is when people draw the utensil between the teeth -- it has the same effect as drawing nails on a blackboard aaaaaaaaa

5. I LOVE sweets!!

I am so grateful to be living in a country as Sweden where the candy is to die for and the pastry is perfect! During summer there is nothing better than a soft ice cream..yum! I refuse to give all this up no matter what!!

6. I am scared of the dentist

Yes, it is true. I am a grown woman but just thinking about the dentist makes me sweat and dread the day I have to go. Having a sweet-tooth and fear of dentist is not a good combination. Not at all! I fear everything from the waiting room to the dental chair and the tools :-(

7. I get really bitchy when I am hungry and when food is almost ready I automatically eat something sweet!

If I am hungry and no food in sight the result is; me being a total bitch! I am not kidding. I have snapped, yelled, rolled my eyes, make snotty comments, etc -- not a nice person at all haha. When I am cooking or someone else is cooking and it is almost ready I look for something to eat (no part of the food that I am cooking because I don't like it when people start touching the food I am preparing or tasting it) -- S. always made fun of me for that hehe she always knew when the food was done, I started looking for something sweet :-D

Watched the latest Glee episode and I really loved all the songs, especially Lea Michele's version of "Without You". After going to Youtube.com to listen to the original by David Guetta ft Usher, I stumbled upon these two amazing men doing a cover. J Rice and Daniel De Bourg hit it outta the ballpark with this cover. I thought you guys could listen to all 3 versions and see which you like most, if you can make that choice :-)

SOPA bill

It has been brought to my attention that there is a controversial bill trying to pass, SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act). According to news.cnet.com "It allows the U.S. attorney general to seek a court order against the targeted offshore Web site that would, in turn, be served on Internet providers in an effort to make the target virtually disappear. It's kind of an Internet death penalty."

Click this link or this link to learn how this bill will affect you.

For all you who enjoy streaming, listening to music, and find info on, say, wikipedia, will be affected and the victims of this battle. The 3 strong supporters are: MPAA, the Recording Industry Association of America, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Understandably, the organizations such as MPAA, Recording Industry Association of America, stand to gain a lot by the passing of this bill as it will "force" music, tv, and film lovers (such as myself) to start paying for all our entertainment. I also understand that the millionaires fear the continuing loss of income as fewer buy CDs, DVDs, and such but hey, here is a thought; STOP RAISING THE COST FOR EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME and people will start buying and pay more from your providers!! It is getting more and more expensive to go to the movies, buy a decent CD/DVD, and so on. Now that the economy is as poor as it is, you will not gain more simply because you remove the entertainment people can actually afford. Instead of getting rid of sites that provide free entertainment, try to come to an agreement where the internet users are not the biggest losers, as we would be if SOPA passes.

This bill does not leave any room for the accused party to protect or defend itself. No right to a fair and quick trial here. This is a typical "David vs. Goliath" scenario, except this time David has no means to defend himself at all and is sure to lose.

The thought behind PIPA and SOPA may have started with well-meaning goals but they are quickly getting dangerously out of control. This bill means that if a website filled with documents but has ONE page that may be infringement, SOPA will allow for the whole website to shut down. If a user uploads something that a company finds to be infringement the whole website will be shut down (think YOUTUBE.com).

I believe it is a direct threat to the First Amendment rights and people need to learn more about this bill. Instead of protecting the rich and large companies we need to look out for the true victims, Internet users and providers. The pro-SOPA organizations claim that thousands of job are affected, so are they claiming that if the SOPA bill passes they will somehow get those jobs back? What about all the people working for YAHOO, GOOGLE, FACEBOOK (even though I cannot stand this social network), YOUTUBE, and so on, what about their jobs?

Are we to step back instead of moving forward in society? This bill means a social online isolation where the US will become its own, online, island. As it is hard to strike sites outside of the US, this bill targets sites within the US and does not allow US members to enjoy the foreign websites that are accused of piracy, thus cutting the strings that are attached to other countries. To alienate yourself in this day and age is not the smartest move by, allegedly, some of the smartest brains in the USA.

Dear readers, go online and research this bill and do what you can to stop it! If we do not do something then it will be the end of the Internet as we know it. If you believe in a cause then speak up to make a change!

Shape up already!

Went on a rant last night after reading articles about the Middleton sisters on Aftonbladet, a Swedish "newspaper". Since Prince William and Kate Middleton got married the world (at least Sweden and England) is obsessed with Pippa Middleton's butt. In her white dress, which was beautiful by the way, her bottom looked very nice and fit BUT not outtathisworldstunning! Ever since that day I see at least one article referring to her butt. Here is the thing, if we see her butt in photos (I have not seen it live so can only say what I see from pictures featured in articles) it looks rather flat and very tiny, nothing out of the ordinary. If people want a tiny butt then good for you! I am happy as long as you are happy. The reason I get annoyed is that these "journalists" that write about how perfect this butt is, affect young women and men making any woman with a little meat on her behind seem kinda "fat". I can understand all the Jennifers with a big kabooze (Lopez, Garner, Love Hewitt, etc) get attention because they are fit and have a butt that really sticks out. But to obsess over the same butt over and over and over again would bore any sane person! Hello Kim Kardashian. Enough!! Congratulations Pippa, you have a cute butt. Now can we please move on?

Another thing I get super pissed about is how the very same "journalists" write that Kate Middleton has muscular arms and is very fit. WTF??? Where do you see that she looks very fit?? I am not saying she is skinny but she is not really fit yet. This eternal obsession with weight pisses me off, especially when you try to pass an obviously underweight woman off as fit. I remember when I had my heart broken and lost a ton of weight, I looked like shit to be honest, and still people would come up to me saying how good I looked. Not only did it make me feel bad because it made me think I was super fat before (which I was not) but worse, it put me in a mindset where I was concerned about gaining weight all the time. I would check myself in the mirror and tell S and H how fat I was getting and they couldnt help but yell back how stupid I was being. Because of these articles these sisters are probably really obsessed with their weight and fear to gain pounds as it might change peoples opinions about the "perfect ass" and body. Leave them be and save us all the annoying nonfullfilling articles you spit out outta effed up mindsets. Maybe you can focus on writing about the wonderful work the Prince and Princess do, probably as well as Pippa (not that I know as all I know about this woman is her ahmazing ass). It may inspire people to do more for their communities and the world. So journalists; Shape up already!

Lindsey Miller is a 26 year old grad. student, who might be known as the girl who asked Joseph Gordon-Levitt out on a date on YouTube.com. However, she is not a typical 26 year old woman. Diagnosed with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer Lindsey decided to be a liver! If you know how to read and know what the USA is then you know healthcare is a huge issue, more specifically the expense of healthcare. It is not cheap to be any kind of patient, especially if you are a returning patient. In times like this I am grateful to live in a country where I can visit the doctor whenever I need without having to worry about being able to pay for it. When you visit a doctor in Sweden, whether it be at the hospital or private practice, the price usually does not go over 40 dollars. I had a complicated surgery at the age of 16 which kept me at the hospital for a couple of days but still my parents NEVER had to worry about being able to pay for everything. When you are sick you should not have to think about anything other than getting better, not worry about making payments of the thousands of dollars. Patients like Lindsey should not have to think about anything other than get better and live their life to the fullest.

On her blog Lindsey asks people to help her, whether it be writing a nice and uplifting message, donate money, or share her videos. Go to her page and check it out! She is truly an inspirational woman and I will pray and hope for the best for Lindsey Miller!

As a member of google+ I had the wonderful opportunity to stumble upon this awesome experience. Whenever I hear a student rocking a test like this it makes my brain go, WOOP WOOP!! Read the explanation of hell by a chemistry student :-)

"The following is an actual question given on a University of
*Washington *chemistry
mid-term.

The answer by one student was so 'profound' that the professor shared it
with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the
pleasure of enjoying it as well :

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs
heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas
cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need
to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which
they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets
to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how
many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that
exist in the world today.

Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their
religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these

frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen
over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore,

Ok, so it is no secret to the world that I am a major cinephile and I also enjoy watching TV shows, and LOTS of TV shows. At the moment there are about 12+ shows I follow and I keep finding more :-) If there was a job where I would sit allll day watching one show after the other and reviewing them I would be the perfect candidate (hint hint, feel free to hire me :-P).

The shows that are hot at the moment according to me are (in no particular order other than what pops up in my mind at the moment):

NCIS -- you can never go wrong with some Gibbs, a dash of Abby, and some sexy DiNozzo in the pot! A great show I love to keep watching and recommend you to do so as well.

The Office -- I must say I was sad when Steve Carell left the show but rejoiced when I saw that James Spader joined the team. I love Spader as an actor (hello Boston Legal) and he is a great addition to the show. His character may still need to warm up a little more but I think Dunder Mifflin has taken him in with open arms.

The Big Bang Theory -- Uhm do I really need to explain myself here?? The whole gang, especially Sheldon and Walowitz crack me up every week and leave me wanting more. The intelligent, witty, hear-them-and-fall-off-your-chair-beacuse-you-are-laughing-too-hard is why we love our smart (and slightly ditzy friends).

How I Met Your Mother -- I think it is safe to say that we are all curious as to who will play the mother Ted is looking for but we are still not ready to find her yet. My favorite (if that is even possible to have one) Barney always surprises me with lines only Neil Patrick Harris can deliver. That is not to say that the rest of the cast don't do a great job, which they all do! Legen-waitforit-dary!

Chuck -- As it is the last season of the dorkturnedawesomeagent I feel that they did get a lot out of the show and as it will end I doubt we will be disappointed and left with questions (ehem Lost). It is cute, funny, and kick-ass but I think it is time to retire the tie and sail into the sunset for Chuck and the gang.

Glee -- Lalalalalala. Love the songs but must say that the drama has been spiked up waaay high, I mean Quinns transformation from celibatelittlegirl-turned-punkrockpinkhairedsmokingantihumans-turned-undercoversweetgirl to get her baby back...dial it down a couple of notches please and return to the awesomeness that is MUSIC!! Do not get confused, I still wait for a new episode every week! Such a gleek.

Hawaii Five-0 -- Enter sexy and funny Alex O'Loughlin as Commander Steve McGarrett. The bromance between Danno and Steve is what keeps me coming back to the screen week after week. The witty comments, acting, and "classy"-yet-subtle jokes holds the exact right amount of humor, action, and (on few occasions) rrromance for us to love this power team. Plus the scenery does not hurt one bit. Mmmm Hawaii...

Rules of Engagement -- Oh Lord! Jeff Bingham played by Patrick Warburton is awesome!! The lines delivered during the short episodes crack me up like clockwork. Needless to say the men of the show are what bring the regular laughters but that doesn't mean that the women do not deliver, au contraire my friends, they deliver spot-on punchlines without hesitation. Season 6 and going strong, but I have one question to the producers: will Jen and Adam EVER get married?? I mean even Russell beat them to the altar, isn't it time for them to tie the knot?

Rookie Blue -- Not a whole lot of episodes out and have to wait til summer 2012 for the new season to air but I still wait for the Canadian show to return to our screens. I love the cast and must say that my guilty pleasure of romance is provided more than enough. SPOILER ALERT! STOP READING ABOUT THIS SHOW IF YOU INTEND ON WATCHING IT AND DO NOT WANT TO KNOW ANY MORE! Can't say I didn't warn you. Chemistry between Sam and Andy is through the roof! Even though a part of me cheered for Andy and Luke, the real "wow" factor came frome Sam and Andy finally hooking up. Ps. To the network: next time, don't let us wait a whole year to return to the show. Not cool. Not cool at all.

Cougar Town -- As we all know (who watch the show) the title is a hatedwithpassion piece of work that may change but has not yet been decided as far as I know. The Cul-de-sac crew bring back the laughter and awkward moments we love and cherish. I cannot wait for season 3 to air which will be sometime in 2012. Again, to the network: still not cool.

New Girl -- A new show I have fallen head over heels in love with!!!! Sad to see that Damon Wayans Jr chose Happy Endings (also a good show but do not follow it religiously and therefore is not mentioned here) but his replacement, Winston played by Lamorne Morris, does not disappoint. Awkward-start-to-sing-whenever Jess is such a cute character but let's face it the boys are what makes the show so awesome. Zooey Deschanel, a beautiful and talented actress and the perfect Jess! Her shenanigans and crazy situations along with the guys' hilarious take on life is why I love this awesome show and why you should watch it too. Finish reading this entry and immediately start watching the show. I mean it. No joke. Don't make me tell you twice.

Ok, moving ooon....

Man Up -- Funny show but may be hard for people to fall in love with. Give it a shot, who knows maybe you'll like the 3 men trying to make the best out of the lives they live. Oh and the "look at your man now look at me now look at your man now look back at me" guy (Henry Simmons) is on the show and he is HILARIOUS!! Give the show a chance, you might like it. I know I do :-)

Revenge -- A story if a woman returning to the summer house she lived in as a child to destroy the family that destroyed hers. It is a riveting story and hard to stop watching. The actors are great and some you love while others you cannot stand. All I know is that I am rooting for Team Emily or should I say Amanda. Just watch it, don't ask any questions.

Pan Am -- Beautiful makeup, awesome clothes, crazy acting, cold war, hot pilots, gorgeous stewardesses. Need I say more? Ok, plot that is easy to get caught up in. The influence of the 60's is back with all its grace. Wonderful show that every Sunday has me and my mother glued to our Television screen.

Once Upon A Time -- Who doesn't like fairy tale stories? With a twist to the "happy" endings, the characters we have all grown up to love or fear are stuck in time in a town waiting to be rescued. A little boy leaves to find the one person who can save them all from the evil witch's spell. The story moves back and forth from the magical land of stories to the modern spell bound town. We follow Emma's quest to try to figure out what is going on with this community where she is supposed to be the savior they are all waiting for. Adorable Henry brings the cute factor through the roof. If you love fairy tales then tune in every Sunday and watch as our known characters such as Snow White and Cinderella are not quite as we know them to be :-) The show were recently picked up for a full season of 22 episodes and I couldn't be happier. It is fun to figure out who is playing what character, some easier to spot than others.

Up All Night -- A couple former SNL cast members appear on the show. Will Arnett and Christina Applegate play the married couple who loved to party and feel young and suddenly find themselves being thrown into parenthood. Together with Maya Rudolph this cast will sure make you spit milk (or wine or whatever beverage you prefer) through your nose! Maya is hilarious as is Will. The dynamic of the whole cast is fantastic and also we get to enjoy some crazy cute baby time. Who can say no to cute babies that we don't have to take care of but instead just watch as two parents crumble under the pressure of tending to a fragile soul. Pour yourselves a glass of whatever, put your feet up, and just enjoy!

2 Broke Girls -- I am not gonna lie, this show is staying alive solely on the awesome punch lines delivered by the cast. Do you really need anything else? You have a waitress with bad ass attitude who hates her job but has no choice but to serve other people at a diner run by a hilarious Asian man. She never fails to serve the meal with a side of bashing. Then you have a super rich girl gone poor after daddy was caught embezzeling money resulting in all assests being frozen and now this girl must work as a waitress. These girls find each other and move in, along with rich girl's horse. Yes, you read it correctly, she has a horse. How awesome isn't that?? Then we have the horny, I think Russian, chef who is always hitting on the girls while still making sure they are ok...awww. Then we have the hot love interest who is intrested but still...well it's complicated so you just have to watch the show. Of course we have many more characters but come on, I aint getting paid for this so do your own research :-P

Allen Gregory -- Jonah Hill. (ssshhhh no need to say anything else. ssshhh)

I am on the lookout for a few new shows such as Tim Allen's new show "Last Man Standing" which seems hilarious! I think we can expect it to be a bit like 8 Rules to Date My Daughter but still not. And then we have Jaime Pressly's new show "I Hate My Teenage Daughter". If the title doesn't intrigue you then I don't know what will. Consider yourself a lost cause. I'm just kidding. No, I am not. No, I am...or am I?

Of course there are soooo many more shows out there that I watch such as: The Mentalist, Bones, House, From Lark Rise to Candleford, Modern Family, The Middle, Secret Circle, The Vampire Diaries, True Blood, and so maaaany moooore. How do I have time to do anything else you might ask yourself, well it is now 5 am and I am still wide awake. So, muchas gracias streaming links and good ol fashion Television.

I hope I have opened your eyes to at least one new show and more so I hope you enjoy em as much as I do. There is nothing like good entertainment that allows you to escape the lives you lead.

Watched Something Borrowed and fell in love! I didn't watch the VMAs but after hearing whispers of what happened on stage I saw a clip of Beyoncé on stage. Was I the only one who felt her announcement of her pregnancy was a bit too much? I mean we got it when you were on the red carpet and you had to hold your stomach to show the pretty bump but to pet your belly on stage? Don't get me wrong, I am really happy for the blessed couple and we should all feel over the moon when we have exciting news like this but I just felt it was too much. Somethings should be kept private, after all you were soo keen on keeping your relationship under rep for so long and then you get on stage and take off your jacket and rub the tummy...I don't know, I just feel it was over the top. And do not get me started on Kanye, what the hell is wrong with that man? Yes, we are all so freaking happy when our friends have amazing news like a little baby on board but he acted as if he is the future father. Creeps me out a bit, but that's just me not liking Kanye haha.

go to the people in Norway, Oslo and the children/youth in Utoya Island who where hit by bombs and shooting yesterday afternoon. It is horrible to read how kids tried to swim off the island but drowned because they couldnt swim or just got tired. The criminal wore a police uniform and told the kids he was there to save them and as they went to him, he shot them down. He blew up 2 government buildings in Oslo before heading out to the island. Before his identity was known this was called a terrorist act and people started pointing fingers but when they found out he was a blonde, blue eye Norweigan who lived with mommy the word terrorist started to fade. No matter race, religion, beliefs it is still a terrorist attack! There should be no maximum limit of how many years he will spend in prison, in this case (if I were the attorney) I would go for life sentencing in prison, no less!

I am growing weary of morons affecting hundreds of lives directly and thousands more indirectly because of their actions. I want to walk freely on my streets, without fear for my life. Instead of hating the authorities we should stand up next to them and fight violence across the borders. No more should morons affect how we rule and live our lives, we are stronger than them if we can find it in our hearts to just unite. Put everything aside, if you want to be free then you stand up against the hatred, evil, and injustice and help make this world a better place for our and future generations to come. I say, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! TIMES WILL CHANGE, GOOD WILL WIN OVER EVIL! WE WILL TAKE NO MORE!

Royal Weddings 2010-2011

In the spirit of yesterday's princely wedding in Monaco I wanted to comment a little on the past royal weddings during 2010 and 2011. Starting with my country's Crown Princess Viktoria and Prince Daniels wedding in Sweden.

After the ceremony the Crown Princess stood on the balcony and held a short speech to the people. She thanked the people of Sweden for giving her the love of her life, her own Prince. Daniel was a commoner, a personal trainer, when he met the Crown Princess and they went through a lot of media coverage during their 10 year relationship before their wedding. They had to fight for their love as it was unacceptable for a commoner to wed a royal member. After the people and the government agreed that the relationship was ok the couple could spend a few years together before saying: I do! It was a beautiful wedding, with a blue carpet (you know, the royal family having blue blood :-)) You could see the love between this couple every time they looked at each other. The speech Prince Daniel gave his wife and to the guests during the wedding dinner left no one unmoved. He spoke of how his wife had to travel abroad for a month and, in spite of lack of sleep, the Crown Princess stayed up all night writing him 30 letters for each day she would be away. This let us know how strong their relationship really is and how romantic our Crown Princess, who is known for being a little cool, can be :-) Nowadays the couple is always spotted smiling and still as in love as they were the day they were married. The whole wedding day was relaxed and focused on love and nothing else! Beautiful couple, beautiful and simple dress (perfect for the Crown Princess) and a beautiful day!

The next wedding in 2010 was the Greek royal wedding. It was not as covered by the media as the Swedish royal wedding. Prince Nikolaus and Tatiana Blanik wed on the island Spetses. A very happy couple indeed. I have not done any research on the couple and the wedding was not covered in Sweden so there is not much I can say about the couple or the wedding. Tatiana, an event planner for Diane Von Furstenberg, looked beautiful on her wedding day. She, also a commoner, got her exiled Prince and once again the love cannot be mistaken. I feel their wedding was more relaxed than the other royal weddings and it was reported that the guests absolutely loved the day and had a blast!

Fast forward to 2011 we have the royal wedding of the young couple Prince William and miss Catherine, Kate, Middleton. Their wedding was also very well covered by media and had been so for like a month ahead :-) We were all anticipating to see Kate's dress and it was not disappointing when we did get to see her. I did however, not like her make-up at all! It made her look so old. When looking at other pictures she seems so young, as she is, and vibrant but on this day she looked tired, old, and worn out. Prince William was walking around greeting his guests and joking with them before his bride arrived. The two princes were talking while waiting and one could tell Prince William was nervous while Prince Harry was trying relax him by cracking some, what we assume, are witty comments. They gave us not one but two kisses on the balcony, which sent a roar through the crowd. I just felt that this couple was so nervous that the love we could see between the Swedish royal couple was not as distinctive here. I feel it is sad that the (now) Duchess' sister's butt got so much attention and that the couple kind of fell behind (see what I did there haha). The kisses felt very planned and instead of giving a spontaneous kiss we could see William tell his wife that they should kiss...I don't know, I wanted/expected more from this young vibrant couple. We know there is passion, we have seen it before, just hoped it would show on their day as well.

Yesterdays wedding in Monaco was very beautiful. His Serene Highness Prince Albert wed his long time Zimbabwe/South African girlfriend, Charlene Wittstock at the beautiful Palace Square with other royal and famous guests as witnesses. The day before their religious wedding they had a civil wedding with family witnessing. After the ceremony, while receiving a gift from the people of Monaco we could see how HSH Prince Albert had his hand, lightly, on Charlene's butt haha. HSH Prince Albert also held a short speech to the people of Monaco. This ceremony the shy Charlene showed her feelings toward her husband on several occasions and they looked so adorable together! The day after the couple looked very strained throughout the whole religious ceremony and after putting on the rings the serious facial expressions finally cracked and they both let the smiles shine through. She wore Armani designed wedding gown which I thought was nothing special and he wore a white uniform. Leaving the square heading to the car they were showered with white rose petals and it looked amazing. They got in the car, greeted the people on the streets, heading to Sainte Devote church where HSH Princess Charlene would leave her bouquet (a tradition in Monaco). There the HSH Princess let the tears roll down her cheeks while listening to a beautiful song. It was very moving and beautiful.

All these weddings we could see unions between commoners and royals and I LOVE IT!! You can add Norway, Denmark and Spain to this category! Commoners, it seems to be our era to join the blue bloods of the world! Let us just hope that the future royal members become a part of the family because of one reason only, LOVE.

I went with my sister, on this lovely and sunny Sunday, to look for shoes. There is a couple at the subway with a baby carriage. These people are not Swedish but foreigners whose parents moved here, or as I call them Blattar! These kind of people, even if they were born here, have not bothered to learn to speak the Swedish language properly. They looked like they were in their late teens and just had a baby. First problem was: why the hell do you have a child if you cannot controll yourself. Second problem is, learn how to speak like a normal human being without cursing everyone out. Third problem is, fight your own damn battle!

The subway was packed and instead of standing in the back so the carriage has better protection they stood right by the doors people walk in and out of. They made it really hard for people to pass because they were in the way, but this didn't seem to bother them one bit. So there we all are, trying to hold on for dear life so we will not fall on each other due to the horrible driving of the train. One poor guy had no ability to hold on to anything so he started falling over and instead of anyone trying to grab on to him they all started pushing him away from them. I grab a hold of him so he won't hurt himself and in the process he bumps the carriage (no way in hurting the child that does not even react to the whole thing. The father, who is like 5 feet tall and looks like little baby starts yelling and cursing at him. The guy apologizes and looks so embarressed. This, however, does not shut the dad up one bit! He keeps cursing at him and yells. So being who I am I had to open my mouth. I calmly told him that there was no way for the guy to grab on to anything and nothing serious happened. He started attacking me and calling me names and kept saying that the guy could have squashed the baby's head. NO WAY IN HELL WAS HE EVEN CLOSE ENOUGH FOR THAT TO EVER HAPPEN!!!!!! So, I told him that the carriage took the blow or bump so the kid is fine. He keeps yelling so I just ignore him. He starts staring at me like he wants to kill me. To show him that there is no way in hell he scares me (come on! You're a little brat who barely reach up to my shoulders and just learned how to wipe your own butt) I stare right back at him with no aim to be the first to remove my stare. So, after a while he looks scared and yells out that I should stop staring at him and I tell him that he didn't have to look at me in the first place and he doesn't scare me. What happens now is what got me to be in a situation where I contemplated to throw away my maturity and better sense. The girl starts yelling at me (with a very high pitch so the whole train stares at them and shakes their heads at them). She was saying how I had nothing to do with the whole thing. My sister was standing between us so she turns around (my sister is 15 years old by the way) and calmly asks her to lower her voice. So, she keeps yelling and my sister keeps telling her to stop yelling because she is hurting her ears. She gets more and more frustrating and after listening to her yelling I raise my voice and tell her to stop yelling because I'm done talking to her. Even her boyfriend told her after that she shouldn't have yelled. And she starts whispering how we are idiots and they quickly realize that there is not ONE person on that train that will say they did the right thing.

I was so mad and it was a true miracle I didn't grab her head and just pounded it against the window or yell back at them. But there is no way I will get in trouble because of ignorant people with no future in sight. What pissed me off the most was that not a soul on that train spoke up and said anything. Swedish people are the worst people when confronted! It sickens me how they do not have a bone in their body to help when people are in need. I understand that they are neutral but once in your life you need to make a stand!

Anyways, after I got off the train I was still shaking but thankfully I got off the train as a better person. They will realize how foolish their reaction was and they will be embarrassed. I feel really sorry for that child and I think it should be illegal for incompetent people to raise children, especially if they are kids themselves!! I am proud of my reaction and I would react the exact same way if I had to do it all over again but I would add the fact that I grabbed the guy so he wouldn't fall on the carriage but anyways, they are not worth it.

Very eventful Sunday afternoon so now I shall just relax and enjoy the warmth of the sun with great music in my ears!!

I hope that when you see someone attacked you will react because if you let it be you are no better than the attacker. We need to help each other our againts the morons of the world.

So we have witnessed another wonderful wedding! Last Friday we could enjoy (even though I missed the party after the ceremony but that is ok..I guess...or maybe not..anyways, I digress) Prince William (son of the wonderful and one of my personal role models, the late Lady Diana and Prince Charles) and the former commoner Catherine Middleton. She wore two fabulous dresses by Sarah Burton for the house of McQueen. It was so sweet to watch these two lovebirds tie the knot. Unlike what my sister stated I will not write an essay about my feeling about this union other than how beautiful it was. It was evident to see how nervous Kate was and how William was guiding her through every step and with suttle looks assuring her that everything is ok! There was no mistaken in their love and confidence for each other on this fine day! I still think as I did the day of, the Archbishop of Canterbury should have used Joey's speech from Monica and Chandler's wedding for Prince William and now Princess Kate's. That would have been epic. Was just waiting to hear "and in this giving and receiving and taking and giving" hahahaha guarantee a laughter! But even without it the day was still wonderful. The girl got her Prince, a very happy ending indeed.

On another note, Bin Laden is dead and that means one less evil man walking on our earth. Finally. No need to write anything else as he deserves nothing at all.

Now I need to tend to my neck that has been killing me for the past week so work won't be a bitch.

My dear friend J. is expecting a baby to enter this world in about a month and I am super excited. Just sad I haven't seen her at all during her pregnancy :-( However, that will change as I will see her real soon! Also found out my cousin is preggers as well. Now, you may think wow, 2 people in your direct circle are pregnant but let me tell you....at the UNICEF office my direct supervisor is on maternity leave along with a couple of other women. Her substitute is also pregnant together with another maternity leave substitute, also another woman I worked with at the office is going to be a mommy any day now. All in all there are 7 women at that office that are on maternity leave or about to (what I know of that is). J's sister just had a baby and their cousin's wife also had a baby not too long ago. The cousin has two sisters and one is expecting while the other just gave birth again. I am sure I have forgotten someone who is pregnant but who can blame me with all the babies popping out every here and there! Some have gotten preggers but lost the babies one way or another and I am real sad about that:-(

S. can call herself a proud auntie, E. is sooooo adorable!!! He is a beautiful baby to say the least and I cannot wait to meet more of the sweet babies in the near future!!

I guess my biological clock is ticking louder than ever but I just have to wait my turn, for now I will be joyful for all my friends and family who are blessed with small bundles of joy in their lives.
But for now I need to take my bundle of joy out for a walk in the sun (oh how I have missed the warmth of the sun). Tomorrow we are having a very small bbq with my beloved M. I am sooo happy to see her again, it has been over a year since I saw her last but it feels like yesterday. Who knows maybe I will move to England and try my luck there. More news to come later. I am in love!! I am and always have been a huge fan of good music, which does not mean a certain genre but good music. The piano always brings a huge smile to my face and listening to someone who can really play it melts my heart. I love songs, lyrics that makes you feel like the song is about you, voices that give me goosebumps, instruments that hit the right chords in my heart, interpretations of already existing music, and mind blowing creation of new! When I heard David Garrett play his violin my pulse rose immediately and I closed my eyes to take in every note that echoed out of this small but-oh-so-powerful instrument! I will upload one video here but I beg of you to log on to youtube.com and hear the magic come from his heart, to his fingers, through the instrument, to your ears, heading straight to your heart causing your eyes to shut and your mouth to curve upward. A couple of days ago we could read about how a UN volunteer was shot and died in the Ivory Coast. Today we read it was a 34 year old woman by the name of Zahra Abidi from Sweden. She traveled to the Ivory Coast in 2009 and her duties were to collect data and translate all the information to English and send all the reports to New York. Due to a unsafe situations in the country all UN volunteers were sent back home. She did such an amazing job so they asked her to return to the Ivory Coast and work at another position. She hesitated but decided to return to the country and work as an analyst because she felt it was important. March 10th 2011 she returned and one day, while at home, a stray bullet is shot through her window and kills her instantly (paraphrasing Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet). Her parents also stated that it is important not to let her death be in vain or forgotten. As a UNICEF volunteer I feel I need to mention the work of this incredible woman. We think UN workers are safe but in reality they are not. They choose to face danger on a daily basis to make the lives of others better. I hope you read this entry and mention this woman's sacrifice as well as many other people that have given their lives to make this world a better place for the rest of us.

May you rest in peace. You are true heroes and you will not be forgotten! Thank you for everything you have given us and for your continuous work in spite of risking your lives on a daily basis. Bless you Zahra Abidi and all of our fallen friends of the world.

I was reading saschasdailydrama.blogspot.com and she wrote about her desire to travel somewhere. I have been stumbling a lot these past days, thank you my sweet H. for sending me all the stumbles :-) They always bring a smile to my face haha. Many of the pages she sends me are images of wonderful and tropical places so going back to the travelling, one place I have put on top of my list (honeymoonwise haha) and it is the Maldives. One day, my precious friends, one day I will spend a couple of weeks on the magical islands of the Maldives. Everytime I see a picture of this wonderful place my heart melts and I instantly fall into the land of dreams. I cannot wait for the day when I will walk on the white sandy beaches, jumping in the clear blue water, and ending my day watching the sun set right by the water while sipping on a glass of wine or why not a tropical drink with the man of my dreams :-)

For now I will watch OFF THE MAP and enjoy the cold sun Sweden has to offer on this serene Sunday.

Horrible wake up call

For the past couple of days someone has been calling me from "unknown" number and have done so every time I have not been close to my phone. Needless to say I started getting annoyed because they would not leave any voicemails and I had no clue who was calling. Last night I was engulfed by the wonderful stories of Off The Map and I went to bed around 5 am. This morning, with many disruptions from my mother playing with Nala, I had no want of leaving my bed early at all. I get a phone call thinking it might be for an interview of some sort, lo and behold, unknown! I pick up the phone, barely getting my voice out, my eyes still shut, and with a stuffy nose, only to find this highpitched happyjollyohmygodshepickedupokIamsoexcitedIcannotcontrollmyvoicefromshrieking girl on the other end. "HAAIIIIIJJJJJJJJ!!! I got a letter saying I should call you so I can start in the group with UNICEF Stockholm!!!!" The only thing going through my head is ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!! Why the hell would you call over and over again, not leave a voicemail, or hey you even have the bloody (read a worse word than that) option to email! So, I simply told her to please email your interest and you will get a welcome email back. This seemed to blow her mind because she had no idea what to say after that. It is like I told her to take her phone and shove it where the sun doesn't shine. All she said was "uhm, ok, yea, ok, uhm, yea, I can do that, yea, ok. Thanks" and then she doesn't hang up the phone so I can hear her say..."should I hang up, I don't know". That is when I kindly hang up the phone for her to show her what to do when a conversation is over.

Conclusion of this is; do not, I repeat, do not ever call me in the morning with a shriek of joy because I have the worst morning mood and your giddiness will not make it go away...Your giddiness is my greenturningmonster trigger as anger is the Hulk's trigger. Now you know, never let it happen again, okthankyoubye :-)

I read this joke and I must say I laugh every time I re-tell it (could be a reason why my sister thinks I am terrible at telling jokes). I have to tell you how it went down when I was telling it to my mom.

Me: Hey mom, wanna hear a joke?
Mom: Yea, sure.
Me: Ok, so there was a blonde girl and it was her birthday. One of her gifts was a gift card for "flying a helicopter" lesson.
Mom: Oook....
Me: So, she gets bored one day and decides to use this gift card. When she gets there the instructor tells her there is only one helicopter left and it only has one seat left...
Mom: Aha, ok..
Me: The instructor asks her if he shows her how everything works, will she be able to fly on her own? She tells him that she will...
Mom: Oh My God. Nooo...
Me: (I start giggling now) So, she gets in the helicopter and the instructor tells her she needs to report back every 400 ft. And the blonde girl tells him alright and takes off...
Mom: Oh no, she dies huh??!!!! (now she is giggling/laughing)
Me: Wait wait (I start laughing a bit more) so after 400 ft she reports back saying; "oh my god this is soo much fun!!"
Mom: She is gonna die isn't she??!!! (Laughing loud now)
Me: (Hard to control my voice because I am laughing too much) No, wait!! Ok, so 800 ft she reports back; "I could do this all day!!!!" and the instructor is happy she can manage the helicopter. 1200 ft is coming up but no report from the blonde girl. The instructor waits and waits...
Mom: OH MY GOD, SHE DIED DIDN'T SHE??!!! SHE DIEEEEDDDDDDD!!!
Me: (Me hysterically laughing trying to get the words out while trying to stop the tears running down my cheeks) Nohohohohoho..
Mom: (Scream laughing and can't move from her place) SHE DIIIEEEEEEDDDDD I KNOW SHE DIIEED...SHE IS GONNA DIE RIGHT???
Me: (gave into laughing and crying and just tried to catch my breath after a couple minutes) ok ok ok...aaaahhhhh...ok *sigh and wipe my tears* so the instructor goes out and he sees the helicopter shoots down from the sky and crashes next to the airport...
Mom: AHAHAHAHA SHE DIED!!! (Bending forward, holding her stomach because she is laughing too hard).
Me: (Laughing harder) No, stop!! I need to finish this joke today!!! ok, so the instructor rushes over to the helicopter and sees that the blonde girl miraculously made it without a scratch. "What happened up there? I didn't get a report after 800 ft!" and the girl answered; "I don't know. I got cold so I turned off the big fan" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Mom: HAHAHAHAHAHAH OHMYGOD!!!! THE BIG FAN!!!!! IDIOT!!!!! HAHAAHHAHAHAA
Sister: (From the other room and very calmly) The joke wasn't that good.
Mom: Oh, hush you...(wiping tears from her eyes)
Sister: (after I go to see her) You really suck at telling jokes.
Me: (Still laughing) But you didn't think it was funny?! Come on...blonde girl...helicopter...alone...fly....crash....turn off BIG fan!!!!!!
Sister: (Staring with blank eyes at me) No.

Now, I haven't gotten that reaction from anyone since but I get a lot more laughs when I tell people how my mom reacted. I don't know if my mom is morbid but lord did she want that girl to die hahahahahahaha but that is the reaction when telling a joke in my house--well, with my dad it's *say the joke, get a laugh, and then having to re-tell it a couple of times and sometimes even explaining it and get another laugh* Ahhh crazy family. Well, I just wanted to share that with you on this fine Sunday evening:-)

When I read this entry by Eric Allen Bell I literally started to weep. Kindness in people is rare and when it happens, wonderful things occur. 1. First Important Lesson - "Know The Cleaning Lady"

During my second month of college, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions, until I read the last one: "What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?"

Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50s, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank. Just before class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward our quiz grade.

"Absolutely," said the professor. "In your careers, you will meet many people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say "hello."

I've never forgotten that lesson. I also learned her name was Dorothy.

2. Second Important Lesson - "Pickup In The Rain"

One night, at 11:30 p.m., an older African American woman was standing on the side of an Alabama highway trying to endure a lashing rainstorm. Her car had broken down and she desperately needed a ride. Soaking wet, she decided to flag down the next car.

A young white man stopped to help her, generally unheard of in those conflict-filled 1960s. The man took her to safety, helped her get assistance and put her into a taxicab.

She seemed to be in a big hurry, but wrote down his address and thanked him. Seven days went by and a knock came on the man's door. To his surprise, a giant console color TV was delivered to his home.

A special note was attached. It read: "Thank you so much for assisting me on the highway the other night. The rain drenched not only my clothes, but also my spirits. Then you came along. Because of you, I was able to make it to my dying husband's bedside just before he passed away. God bless you for helping me and unselfishly serving others."

3. Third Important Lesson - "Remember Those Who Serve"

In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less, a 10 year-old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in front of him. "How much is an ice cream sundae?" he asked. "50¢," replied the waitress.

The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and studied the coins in it.

"Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?" he inquired. By now more people were waiting for a table and the waitress was growing impatient. "35¢!" she brusquely replied.

The little boy again counted his coins. "I'll have the plain ice cream," he said. The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away. The boy finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and left.

When the waitress came back, she began to cry as she wiped down the table. There, placed neatly beside the empty dish, were two nickels and five pennies. You see, he couldn't have the sundae, because he had to have enough left to leave her a tip.

4. Fourth Important Lesson - "The Obstacles In Our Path"

In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way.

Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway. The peasant learned what many of us never understand - "Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition."

5. Fifth Important Lesson - "Giving When It Counts"

Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a hospital, I got to know a little girl named Liz who was suffering from a rare and serious disease. Her only chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion from her 5-year-old brother, who had miraculously survived the same disease and had developed the antibodies needed to combat the illness. The doctor explained the situation to her little brother, and asked the little boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister. I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a deep breath and saying, "Yes, I'll do it if it will save her."

As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing the color returning to her cheeks. Then his face grew pale and his smile faded. He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice, "Will I start to die right away?".

Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his sister all of his blood in order to save her.

"Date a girl who reads. Date a girl who spends her money on books instead of clothes. She has problems with closet space because she has too many books. Date a girl who has a list of books she wants to read, who has had a library card since she was twelve.

Find a girl who reads. You’ll know that she does because she will always have an unread book in her bag.She’s the one lovingly looking over the shelves in the bookstore, the one who quietly cries out when she finds the book she wants. You see the weird chick sniffing the pages of an old book in a second hand book shop? That’s the reader. They can never resist smelling the pages, especially when they are yellow.

She’s the girl reading while waiting in that coffee shop down the street. If you take a peek at her mug, the non-dairy creamer is floating on top because she’s kind of engrossed already. Lost in a world of the author’s making. Sit down. She might give you a glare, as most girls who read do not like to be interrupted. Ask her if she likes the book.

Buy her another cup of coffee.

Let her know what you really think of Murakami. See if she got through the first chapter of Fellowship. Understand that if she says she understood James Joyce’s Ulysses she’s just saying that to sound intelligent. Ask her if she loves Alice or she would like to be Alice.

It’s easy to date a girl who reads. Give her books for her birthday, for Christmas and for anniversaries. Give her the gift of words, in poetry, in song. Give her Neruda, Pound, Sexton, Cummings. Let her know that you understand that words are love. Understand that she knows the difference between books and reality but by god, she’s going to try to make her life a little like her favorite book. It will never be your fault if she does.

She has to give it a shot somehow.

Lie to her. If she understands syntax, she will understand your need to lie. Behind words are other things: motivation, value, nuance, dialogue. It will not be the end of the world.

Fail her. Because a girl who reads knows that failure always leads up to the climax. Because girls who understand that all things will come to end. That you can always write a sequel. That you can begin again and again and still be the hero. That life is meant to have a villain or two.

Why be frightened of everything that you are not? Girls who read understand that people, like characters, develop. Except in the Twilightseries.

If you find a girl who reads, keep her close. When you find her up at 2 AM clutching a book to her chest and weeping, make her a cup of tea and hold her. You may lose her for a couple of hours but she will always come back to you. She’ll talk as if the characters in the book are real, because for a while, they always are.

You will propose on a hot air balloon. Or during a rock concert. Or very casually next time she’s sick. Over Skype.

You will smile so hard you will wonder why your heart hasn’t burst and bled out all over your chest yet. You will write the story of your lives, have kids with strange names and even stranger tastes. She will introduce your children to the Cat in the Hat and Aslan, maybe in the same day. You will walk the winters of your old age together and she will recite Keats under her breath while you shake the snow off your boots.

Date a girl who reads because you deserve it. You deserve a girl who can give you the most colorful life imaginable. If you can only give her monotony, and stale hours and half-baked proposals, then you’re better off alone. If you want the world and the worlds beyond it, date a girl who reads.

Or better yet, date a girl who writes."
