Lucia

I woke up very early this December morning, December 13th to be exact. In Sweden this is a special day, it is Lucia. Tradition is that the girl/s in the family dress in a white gown and usually one of them wears a crown of candles on her head and together with her maids (wearing white gowns with glitter garlands) she wakes the house by going from one room to the other holding lussekatter (sort of sweet soft pastry) and something to drink while singing beautiful songs. Click this link for more information about this tradition called Lucia. Today my little sister is going to sing with her school choir and she is pretty nervous as she has a solo to sing! I am going to the church to surprise her as she thinks my mom is the one going. I will let you know how things went when I come back!

Lussekatter, some like em and some don't

Until later Lucias, tärna, stalledräng of the world

Success!!

Last night was a blast! I met M. and headed out to IKEA where S. was waiting for us. We ate a plate of meatballs and talked. I got my presents and they were amazing! They really bought the presents with my personality in mind and I loved them. Before I met up with M. I was getting ready and of course was running late as usual. I got my gift from my mom (money, which is always needed), and I Love how my mom turns to my sister and says:
Mom: "D. get your sister her gift you got her"
D: "What gift?!" in utter confusion "The yogurt in my hand? Uhm Ok, here you go sis, happy birthday?"
Mom: "No, the pj and slippers you got her"
Me: "Uhm, I am right here! I don't wanna know what I got till I open the present"
Mom: Nonchalantly "Oh, you already knew"
D: "Yea, cz D. went out and personally bought the gift with her own money right?!"
Mom: "Well I took your money and bought her gift for you"
D: Jokingly "Well, where is the change?"
Mom: "You want your 20 kr?" (Less than 2 dollars haha)
D: "Yes please" *rolling her eyes*
Me: "I am still here!! Can you just get me my gift already so I can finish getting myself ready as I have a friend waiting for me!!" Both looking at me
Mom and D: "Be happy you are getting a gift. Jeeze the mood"
Mom: while holding my gift in her hand and in full sincerity "what date is it today?"
Me: "Are you serious, please tell me you are joking! You are joking right"
Mom: Still serious "No why?" My eyes are wideopen I look at my sister and she is just as baffled.
Me: "What are you holding in your hand? My gift. So what day were you in labor 27 years ago?"
Mom: "HAHAHAHAHAAH OH MY LORD!!!! Yea yea, here you go...never mind" walking away mumbling

That literally cracked me up! My mother's confusion, and my sister's sarcastic conversations. I rushed to meet up my beloved M. who was waiting by the train. After IKEA we made our way to an animal shop, kind of like Pet Smart, and I bought Nala shoes made of bones for her to chew on but S. forgot them in her car so I will not get them till tomorrow. We headed out to the xmas market (one of the many in Stockholm) to find it was closed. I started getting sad until I realized the stands I wanted to buy things from was still open :-D As S. said, since it was my day I was very lucky. I got my sugar rush and made S. and M. join me in the rush haha as we walked up to the restaurant, Marion's Gastro and Diner. We sat and waited for the rest to come so we could enjoy a nice meal. After getting yelled at for wanting to pay my share of the food we went downstairs to bowl to 60's music (LOVE IT!!). We had one hour of bowling when most of the party went their seperate ways. Me, M., M., and S. went to Bagpipers Inn (one of my favorite Scottish barsbut there are some great one's in Gamla Stan, which is as you already know one of my favorite places in Stockholm). Finally got my cake with a candle in it (thank you dear S. for making the effort! That meant more to me than anything!) M. and S. made my day and night!! They are amazing friends!!

It was a great birthday and now life is moving on to other parties and humorous events. I will later post pictures of my gifts that are so nice and useful!

Until later wonderful friends!!

It's my birthday!!!

Today, 27 years ago, at 11 am my mother went to the hospital for a regular "mommy" check up and was told she was fully dilated. She refused to stay and wanted to leave because she was expecting to give birth on December 24th. As stubborn and kind as the child was, it thought it would save her a trip to the hospital and just do it right then and there :-) At 4.55 pm, December 6th 1983 I was born, 3 weeks too early, a very tiny baby. Today I celebrate my 27th birthday, grateful for the life I have been blessed with. I have had many experiences and traveled to many places, I have seen many things, felt all the emotions known to man, and this year feels good. I am still hungry for more in life and will try to use my time on this earth well. I want to learn more, see more, feel more, and live more. Life has just begun! My sweet sweet M has text me from London to wish me a happy birthday, I just wished she could be here to share this day with me and my friends. Fashionable S. in Milan, crazy H. currently in Lebanon, ambitious S. in Syria, wonderful A. in LA, and many many many more across the continents, I wish you were here with so I could share this day with you! I will celebrate with you in my heart and mind! I love you guys and you mean so much to me!!!!

To S. and H., my sweet roommates, thank you for the best gift I have ever gotten! I will forever be grateful for your amazing gift, my treasure, my best friend, my loyal companion, my own beloved Nala!! Thank you all for being my friends and being a part of my life as much as I am a part of yours!! Now, I should head to bed for a full day of celebration. Goodnight sweet world and tomorrow a new year of my life will begin.

Until later my friends

Feel another white hair grow out on top of my head

Woke up today after a few hours of sleep with a huge knot in my stomach. My mother calls from the livingroom to my sister to wake me up. She tells her this relative of mine who lives in Florida is going to call me. I get up, with a really bad morningmood and curse my situation and my parents panic when it comes to me. I waited for half an hour til he finally called. I spoke with him and he basically didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. "I should apply to a private school, if I apply now I will get accepted in 2 hours." WHAT!!! Why would I want to go to a school that will take 2 hours to accept me?? "I have the option to transfer out to a good school after a year." I have already checked that option and it was not recommended as it is apparently harder to get accepted to say, Colombia or UCLA than it is to apply directly to them. He also made a point of the fact that I graduated in the worst time possible, the market crashed and therefor it is hard to go to Law School and expect a job after graduating. If there is anyone out there who can tell me he is wrong please do not hesitate!! I need any mind-booster I can get. I don't want this looming over my head anymore. I don't want to make a decision out of desperation (learned my lesson and do not need to retake the class). I just want to wake up happy and be content with my situation in life. I can just hope it will come soon, last time I could do just that, wake up happy, was over 2 years ago. I want the pain in my stomach to go away, no more panic, no more worrying, no more wandering aimlessly, just good ol' me!

Until later darlings

Just another Saturday

After a very stressful day I have been working on a "welcome card" to my UNICEF group for our christmas party. I can't tell you too much about it as some people that will be attending are reading this blog and I don't want to spoil the surprise :-) All I can say is that I am so excited and it's going to be a blast!!

I am really looking forward to my birthday, I will be spending the day with 2 of my closest friends, M and S. and at night a couple more of my friends will join us! There will be no cake, as far as I know, as I think that it is too expensive and we need to save money for something more important :-)

I had a jacket made for Nala and it came out adorable, but too small haha so it is kind of hard for her to walk with it closed. However, she got a hoodie with it :-D Freaking adorable! I should take a picture and post it here. A winter jacket here costs around 100 dollars and I had one made for almost free, all I had to do was buy the fabric. What a bargin!! Comes in handy to know a seamstress. A. was my boss for many years and also a second mother. She gave me my first bath when I was born (I was a preemie so my mom was too scared to bathe me as I was very small) and when I asked her to sew a jacket for Nala she didn't hesitate. Not only am I spoiled with material things (I am gonna raid her closet as she has gained weight and nothing fits her anymore) but whatever I need help with she is there. Anyways, she is also making a warm shirt for Nala to wear under the jacket as it doesn't close so Nala will be warmer this winter :-) By the way, I just have to say that Stockholm looks enchanting. There is snow everywhere and lights are up so it looks like a sparkling winter wonderland, just the way I love it! I have said it before and I will say it again, if you haven't been here during winter I highly recommend you to come and enjoy a nice holiday break in the land of wonder.

Until later enchanted beings

One day at a time

My birthday is getting closer, December 6th, and I have planned to celebrate it with a few of my closest girlfriends. After checking out go kart, paintball, and laser tag, we decided it was too expensive and cold so I decided on having american finger food at an all american bowling restaurant! I am really looking forward to it and I have told my friends that the only thing I want for my birthday is to have fun! No exceptions!! I will however miss my friends that are scattered all over the world, in Europe, Middle East, and USA :-( I wish they could be here and celebrate this day with me but I love you guys and you are always on my mind, much love!!!
On another subject, we defied the bitter weather today to raise awareness for International AIDS day, which is on December 1st (today). We bought candles, had a couple of people form a human train and walked for about an hour or so before we felt that our bodies were going numb so we called it quits. One day and one step at a time we will make a change. See how you can raise awareness in your neighborhood!

Hoping I will not get sick, I feel my eyes burn and head pounding so I should turn off my computer and head to bed but not before I finish the latest episodes of The Big Bang Theory :-) Love the show and the cast are great!!!

Until later my favorite people in the world!

Forget You

I know I just put up Cee Lo Green's song on the blog but I have to put up the one with Gwyneth Paltrow on Glee. She is awesome and this guest appearance is not an exception :-)

Shake it with the cast of Glee and Gwyneth Paltrow! Hope to see more of her singing.

All I Need Is You!

This whole weekend has been about UNICEF and this entry is no worse :-) I found this song and I absolutely love it! Andreas Carlsson is one of the judges on Swedish Idol. Together with this year's All Stars, Andreas (who wrote this song) recorded this wonderful piece which is dedicated to UNICEF. All proceeds go to UNICEF so listen to it and if you like it you can buy it on iTunes. I wanted to upload the official video but it is rather slow so you get the live version instead :-) Goosebumps is all I can say.

Here you go: "All I Need Is You"

Found a way to embed the official video (at the beginning you can hear and see 2 of the judges)Here you can enjoy the official video with much love :-)

Love the music, voices, and lyrics! Bless you for doing a wonderful thing like this! To do this without getting anything in return but appreciation is rare!!! Enjoy loved ones

Pure agitation

I am outraged!! I read in the papers that 2 boys have killed a guy due to drugs. They used a hammer and shovel. They were sentenced to 11 and 9 years in jail but due to their young age when they committed the crime the punishment was lowered. Instead of 11 years one of them got 6.5 years (4.5 years less) and the other got 6 years instead of 9 (3 years lower). The main reason for this decision was the fact that these killers were at the time of the murder "only" 17.5 years old. This means that if the crime would have taken place 6 MONTHS later they would have been sentenced to 11 and 9 years. What the hell is wrong with the judicial system to actually think it is ok to reason in this manner?! I mean in 6 months the human mind doesn't change that drastically that these killers will say, "oh wait! Let us not kill this guy because we are now adults! We know better!!" Screw that!! I understand that you cannot charge a minor the same way you would an adult but come on, 6 months is not far away from adulthood! When I was in Law School many things agitated me, including the fact that criminals of any kind are treated like freaking royalty. You have lawyers, attorneys, judges, who are just tired of their jobs. You can tell there is no energy, no passion in their line of work. You have ancient laws that are still applicable but make no sense. You have prisons that treat their inmates much much better than schools treat their students! Then the police and public wonder why crime rates have gone up in Sweden. I know many that have said, "who cares if I break the law, I will live better behind bars than I do on the streets." Some say, "oh why even bother caring, we just get a slap on the wrist." This is not ok! Did you know that in Law School they actually told us that if a woman/man have a SIP of wine and get raped it can be to their disadvantage, meaning lower, if any, punishment for the perpetrator! How is this even possible in this day in age? I am just fuming! Change needs to be made and it needs to be made NOW!

I need to calm down now, until later loved ones

Spell check please

Am I the only one who gets mighty annoyed when a so-called journalist makes mistakes in names, grammar and spelling, or just forget to add a funtion, which their article is all about? Or when a radio host completely messes up pronouncing an artist's name, or title of a song? I just find myself grinding my teeth and clutching my hands when I see mistakes my fourth grade teacher would flinch at. For the love of ..... we have spell check, we have the internet to consult, and we have editors! How can simple, yet grave, mistakes still occur? I know I make mistakes in spelling and grammar in my posts but I still try to go back and fix it. Also, I never said this was my job or that I am a journalist. If this was my job, believe me, few mistakes would be made, if any. When it comes to one's job everyone should be a perfectionist, in this manner we would eliminate annoying mistakes, confusion, as well as a disgust to continue reading articles from certain news papers. How do these people even get hired?! I read a fashion article online and still quiver at the thought of misspelling huge designer names, not recognizing famous artists, and so on. This is your job! I should be able to read your article and feel confident in the details in the articles. In the old days most of the journalists working today "would not be able to work in this town again!"

Ok, after blowing off some morning steam I feel a little better. I should turn all of this worked up energy toward my closet--time for winter cleaning!!

Until later wonderful readers

dreams dreams dreams

After surfing the net for godonlyknowshowmany jobs, I found myself more confused than ever. I know what I want to do with my life but getting there is not as easy. Until I can reach my goal I need to do something with my time other than volunteering (don't get me wrong it's amazing but unemployment is taking its toll). I was trying to figure out what other things I would like to spend my time with doing? I went over many different options, one that caught my interest was editors assistant at Sweden's largest publishing company. I saw in front of me how I run back and forth in the office (with a pair of Louboutin's), reading one manuscript after the other (on the treadmill), booking meetings, and so on, basically Ryan Reynolds in The Proposal. I researched this opportunity only to find that it was not what I thought, at all! So, I kept searching. I found a couple of interesting positions at law firms and sent my application immediately! I caught myself looking for jobs in fashion, but with no experience, other than pure passion landing a job is nowhere in sight! I love to walk around in shops and pick random things and put together various outfits. I checked out personal shopper (one step closer to professional stylist) but to get a job like that one has to work for the company and after a few years try out for this position, hmmm...I hope that in a few years I will be a lawyer and not trying to work my way up to becoming a stylist. However, S. is going to ask her former employer if I can intern for her (she is an up and coming designer, Patouf) so I am hoping that will go through, at least for a couple of months or so. It isn't paid but at least it is experience and that is more valuable than earning money at some other timewastingjob.

I am so proud of S. I must say! She lived in Italy where she studied and met her current boyfriend. They moved to Stockholm to try their luck but with little success and much frustration they moved back to Milano. While living in Italy, and here, she kept writing. She entered a contest on Cosmopolitan and won a 2 week (I think it was 2 weeks) "gig" at the magazine. She wrote articles and helped out at photoshoots, basically what every "fashionista in the making" dream of. She is now working as freelance journalist for Cosmo, and after moving back to Italy again, she started working as a junior editor at YOOX, loving her job. As she writes in her blog, she can't wait for Monday to come around so she can go back to work. One day I hope I will be able to say the same thing, hopefully sooner than later!!
After reading several different fashion blogs, online magazines, and so on I am craving a pair of Louboutins! Now more than ever!! Not only are these shoes sexy, sensual, and cute but they are also comfortable!! Beauty and comfort rarely go together but Mr. Christian Louboutin has succeeded. One day Monsieur Louboutin, I shall slip into your creations. I will protect, endulge, and treasure them. Match them with nothing less than gorgeous and glide down the streets, like a queen.
(just a few designs to show the art by Christian Louboutin)
(The genius himself!)
Ok, snapped back to reality, saved by the (door)bell. I can keep dreaming about sleeping with my Louboutin's but for now reality and making money is calling so until later my darlings!!

Wow, talk about losing it! And the rest just go about their day like nothing is happening haha

Exhausted

Love this and it it sooo true. This is why I love guys!!! Girls, and boys, check this out! Now I must recuperate from a wild night with J. and C. It was a long time ago since I was out and had fun like that :-) Had to wake up at 6 am to be at my proctering job at 7 am with S. Love how people act during these important national tests, I am just happy I am on the other side of the test and not taking it. Now my body needs to rest til tomorrow morning where I am working with UNICEF on the AIDS run. Let us hope it won't be too cold because we are standing outside from 9 am to 5 pm *shiver*

Random and a short lesson in history

Time is flying by, seasons change, people move, life is always altering. I was walking Nala today and froze my butt off! It is crazy how one day we walk with no jackets and the next we need our coats. I sometimes wish I could be somewhere warm, where I can swim and explore, and sometimes I wish for winter to arrive with its glorious and glittering snow. I recommend any tourist to come to Sweden during winter, christmas and new year time, or summer. Spring and fall are seasons I do not, I repeat, do not recommend you come. It is cold, gray, rainy, and nothing fun to do.

Summer in Stockholms Skärgård. I love to head out to the small islands around Stockholm. A feel of being abroad, especially for a few weeks this past summer :-) Can't wait for more summerdays spent in my hometown!

My beloved Stockholm with not so much snow :-/
This is a part of Old Town, my favorite place in Stockholm (in spite of all the tourists haha). It is called Old Town (Gamla Stan) because it is just that, and old town. It has been a town from about 11oo a.c. During the 1600s many buildings burned down, but we can still find walls and such from earlier times. The buildings we see now are from the 1700s and the 1800s. Love it but at nights it is very spooky--I know a woman who owns a shop in Old Town (many shops and hotels but also residents) and she says her shop is haunted. It is on top of the old Stockholm Konvent,Svartbrödraklostret, which is from the 1300 and she has many ghost stories to tell.
Typical street in Old Town. If you need any tips about vacation in Stockholm feel free to ask, I will be happy to help!

Change of subject; my work with UNICEF has begun again, keeping me busy, which I love. I am also in the final planning stages of my business and I am passionate about it :-) I really hope once it gets started it will spread all over the world--yeay!

I am so sorry for being soo bad with updating my blog but I do have a great excuse, my mother (who just learned how to manage my computer) has compnapped my beloved computer. The computer is on from 7 am til 4 am, while she is watching her shows, and then she complains about it being slow. She actually blames me for not taking care of my computer when I hardly get a chance to even use it. When her shows need to buffer she huffs and puffs and, under her breath, curses at it saying that I have filled it with shit and my email is making it slow blah blah blah--WTF! Best thing is when I have my cell on my computer, both are turned off, she says they will both get ruined. Why? "Because you should not have your cell on the computer like this, it will cause the electronics to fail." I have no idea where she gets these ideas from to be honest but some of the things my mother says crack me up! I need to record one of our conversations and show you what I mean. I should write a book about my mothers wisdom, it will attract a many readers around the globe haha.

Anyways, I should go to sleep but since I finally can use my computer I will use this time and watch some shows I miss, like, The Big Bang Theory, Vampire Diaries, Chuck, Bones, NCIS, Lie To Me, House, and so many more. So many shows so little time :-)

Until later wonderful readers!

Love this song that is featured in "She's Out of My League", which is such a fun and cute movie. It's so true that we are usually not lost, just undiscovered.

Desperate times?

It saddens my heart to see how people can be manipulated to vote for ignorant people! Swedish elections has, for the first time in a veeery long time, ended with a foreign hating party in Riksdag/Parliament. It is sad to see a supposedly modern country return to the era of Europe in WWII and U.S.A during the 50's and 60's. To spread that foreigners are the reason this country is falling apart, to claim foreigners are taking Swedish peoples jobs, to say that all the crime is because of foreigners, takes me back to the persecution of the Jewish people, and other "non-aryan" people, during WWII, it makes me think of the struggle of the African-Americans during the Civil Rights movement.

Are we saying that modern Sweden, known for peace and neutrality, is going back in time? Are we that ignorant to fall for someones words? Someone who wants to halt immigration of non-European people by 90% as well as send non-Europeans back to their countries? For people like myself, Aramaic/Syriac with no country, where will we go? I have nothing to say other than it saddens as well as greatly angers me.

I propose a week where no non-Swedish products can be sold, not a single non-Swedish person goes to work, no restaurants owned by non-Swedish people to stay open, anything with any form of worldly influence will halt. Let the doubters, let the haters see where Sweden would be without its immigrants. Let the politicians bring out a normal and healthy immigration plan so hatred like this ends. Sweden on its own would not last, without the culture of the world Sweden will not exist. I love my country but I refuse to live in fear! You say this only applies to muslims, but once you start you know you will not stop. I say, take all of Skåne and give it back to the rasists in Denmark and let them form their own self-loving land where no man wishes to visit, call it "land of self-destruction".

Let us raise our voices and stop the problem before it gets out of hand. Limit the immigration without persecution of any kind. Learn from our history and make the world stronger, better, and united. We are all Homo Sapiens Sapiens, with variations. If everyone looks, acts, and thinks the same way the world would end as we know it. Embrace your culture as well as your neighbor, admit our differences and love each other for them. Unite in hard times as well as good times. We all deserve nothing but the best, each and every one of us!

Until later world

Ordinary household items...

I think that many of us have the not so good OMG moments in life. Whenever we panic over a stain, cracks, or other household problems, we think we do not have the necessary items close at hand to fix them. Until now! I have found a list (thank you S. for showing it to me haha) with various items you have at home that can work like magic, all of which we think serve one, or a few purposes, but can in fact fix things we never thought possible. If you are interested in what these may be (some will surprise you and I am sure you will start using most of them), then click on this link.

I hope you will find at least one of these tips as useful, I know I have found plenty!!

Baking day

Happy Bday M and J!!! Yesterday was a soccermom day for me. I baked muffins for my sisters basketball team and after I baked a really nice pie while cooking. In between all of the baking and cooking I was doing some grocery shopping. So when it was time to sleep my back was aching and head pounding. I woke up this morning with a really sore throat and stuffy nose which means I got sick! Ugh, typical! However, I wanted to share some of the baking I did yesterday with you guys.

These are some of the lemon muffins (my dad had like two even though it was for the girls haha but at least he liked them, good sign)

These are the berries used for the pie, rasberries, strawberries, and blueberries. It is a healthy pie and really yummy!!! Make sure you wash the berries before putting them on the pie.

The crust for the pie is really basic and easy to do. Came out crispy and yummy!

The end result!! A really good and somewhat healthy cake. Good to make when expecting company. Nice to look at and great to eat :-) I recommend you make this next time you have time on your hands or hosting a dinnerparty

No it is not...

No, it is not what you think!! Shame on you! :-P This is actually frozen ice cream/lollies. It has been in debates for a long time due to its fallic shape and pop up manner. Yes, to eat it you must suck and bite it hahaha but I still love it!!!!! It is soooo good, there are different flavors but the cola is my favourite!! Perfect for a warm day to cool off. My sister, S., and I each bought one and I told S. to take a picture because if I would describe it I don't think many of you would understand or believe me haha. This ice lolly is called Calippo Cola by GB-glass and I would highly recommend it!! Even though you might think it is embarrassing to eat it in public I think you should give it a go, just don't exaggerate when eating it because there are plenty of people with their heads in the gutter!!
Until later brave ones out there!!

Ps. Love my bright pink nail polish hahaha. It has taken me a lot of guts to move away from the natural colors I deeply love and into the arms of bold and bright colors!! Anyways, I.d (I digress) :-) This is a discussion for another time!

Oh you who....

Hahaha thank you H. for making me laugh on a daily basis!!! This is awesome!!!!!

Einstein says...

Einstein's Intelligence Quiz
Einstein wrote this quiz last century. He said that 98% of the people in the world cannot solve the quiz.

There are 5 houses in 5 different colors
In each house lives a person with a different nationality
These 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet
No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar or drink the same drink.
Here's the question: Who owns the fish?
The Brit lives in a red house
The Swede keeps dogs as pets
The Dane drinks tea
The green house is on the left of the white house
The green house owner drinks coffee
The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds
The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill
The man living in the house right in the middle drinks milk
The Norwegian lives in the first house
The man who smokes Blend lives next door to the one who keeps cats.
The man who keeps horses lives next door to the man who smokes Dunhill
The owner who smokes Blue Master drinks beer
The German smokes Prince
The Norwegian lives next to the blue house
The man who smokes Blend has a neighbor who drinks water

With these 15 clues the problem is solvable.

For the answer click here but try to solve it first and if you are stuck click for guidance but beware of answer!

Good luck and until later geniuses!!!

Women are from.....

Thank you dear H. for sending me this loooong but ohsoawesome article. It was spot on and hilarious at times to read and I recommend any male readers to read each and every point made by these women, you will be surprised in how we think and live. Ladies if you have a boyfriend or husband please make sure they read this article because it may answer many of their questions about women. Bare in mind not all these points are accurate but that each woman is an individual and should therefore be treated as one! I hope this article will shed some light as to how women think.

Plays the strings of the heart

This song is so pretty!!! Joshua (love this name!) Radin sings a song "I'd rather be with you" that I believe touches many hearts. The words he sings I think many of us are waiting to hear. I know two of my sweet cousins have heard them as they have tied the knot with such wonderful men this spring and summer. I wish them the best and I dedicate this song to them and to everyone who have enjoyed these words by a loved one and to the ones waiting to hear these words from a future special someone!

I hope you enjoy this song and lots of love!!!

Amazing song and artist

I am in love with the official FIFA World Cup 2010 theme song by K'naan. Check out this video, it will surely bring a huge smile on your lips!

Enjoy my peeps

Or maybe you want to see the Official Video as well then check it out here!

Somalian-born, Canadian-based hip-hop artist K'Naan has spoken about the "unity and celebration" that will connect with his song "Wavin' Flag," after it was chosen as the official anthem of Coca-Cola's 2010 FIFA World Cup program. K'Naan has specially recorded a version of the song for the tournament, hosted by South Africa. The remix of "Wavin' Flag" is part of Coca-Cola's global integrated marketing campaign "inspired by the joyous dance celebrations familiar to Africa."

The track will be used as the music element throughout the entire campaign, including as the soundtrack for all television commercials, during the trophy tour.

Spacey

Checking out my house via satellite and it looks awesome. Checking via google maps the pictures are older (I can tell because in the pictures the tower, Svea torn, next to our house is not finished yet, which was over a year ago). I tried to see my dads old house in Syria but the picture was too fuzzy. If you wanna check out my area go to http://maps.google.com/ and write starrangsringen, Stockholm, Sweden in the search bar and see the great design of my neighborhood as well as our beloved Stadion.

Check it out and check out your own neighborhood, you might get surprised of what it looks like from above haha

A rising star perhaps?

Have been working and it is great but the past week I have been stuck in bed thanks to a lovely cold that struck my head and body with might force. Also the past week a celebrity called Lady GaGa has been in Sweden on her tour. I Love how she treats her fans. When she went to restaurants she invited her fans to dine with her and her entourage, something that is very rare with celebrities. In this video a young Grayson is on the Ellen Show and gets a phone call from Lady GaGa, really nice. Also he performs her song "Paparazzi" and is awesome! This kid got famous as many other artists are nowadays, through YouTube.com. Check him out, maybe he is the next Justin Beiber or better!!

Enjoy! Until later..

So adorable!!!

After our semi-successful day yesterday I ached my way home to sit in front of the telly. I watched 4 different movies before my eyes went on strike. It was a long day with a lot good homebaked treats and crappy weather! Today I have the benefit gala to look forward to. First time attending on my behalf, and will have a great time hanging out with my UNICEF friends at the gala as well afterparty!
During our event yesterday, the yardfest, I found the cutest gift for my coordinator who is preggers. I fell in love and everytime I see the gift I cannot stop smiling like an idiot with no care in the world. They are soooooo adorable and it makes me wonder if someone's biological clock is ticking??
Aren't they the cutest?! Since we do not know if it's a boy or a girl we went with a gender neutral color as well as a dash of UNICEF color which incidentally lead to the colors of the Swedish flag! We thought that giving her two pair of homeknitted socks (came as a package tied together) will allow the baby to grow and use the bigger pair while hanging the smaller in the babycarriage or something. I just cannot stop taking them out and looking at them. The small pair is so tiny!! I am so in love with them!!

(Thought I should show you the size in comparison to my hand. Sooooooo tiny and freaking adorable!!!)
Ok, I need to get up and get ready to see M. so she can fix my hair because frankly my dear I am too lazy. Until later darlings

VENTING

AAAAAAHHHHHH ANGRY, ANNOYED, UPSET, SAD, PISSED OFF, TIRED, these are only a few of the feelings I have experienced these past weeks. With a little sunshine there is a bucket of thunder! I am tired of incompetent people. If you do not know how to do your job, DON'T DO IT!! By you trying to do something, on your own, and messing it up time and time again only creates more problems for me! If you volunteered to do something and you swear you are a pro in that area then why is it that I end up doing, what I could have done once, THREE TIMES OR MORE!!!! And I am sick and tired of people not showing up but promising they will be there! You want people to trust you, to think you are responsible then prove it! Show them by first and foremost SHOWING UP, second try to do your best and not half-ass the job, if you do not know how to do something then do not lie, the truth will come out! If you are struggling I will help. Do not make a thousandandone misakes because I have to clean it up after you, something that could have been prevented if you had been honest with me and yourself! I want you to get better but if you are not even trying why are you making it harder on the people that are actually doing what they are supposed to? Why do you email, call, and text me about something you told me you could fix? Why in the Lord's name do you do all this too late? You should know pretty early on if you can or cannot fix a problem. Why do you insist on telling me you cannot solve something when it is supposed to be done the day BEFORE?!! UGH....

Some people I want to hug and thank for being there when I tear my hair out, others I wish to slap the stupid out of their system for making my hard life HARDER!

I need to get rid of any negative energy if I am going to be able to continue...I needed to get this off my chest so badly, poor S has to put up with this every day. After this long break I post something this sucky, sorry...I hope to post something positive soon and not wait as long as I have. This is it for now so until later lovelies...

So sorry!!

Wow, have not been here for a while!! I have been enjoying the little sunshine we saw before the volcano errupted and snow came back. I have been so busy with UNICEF and getting ready for my short employment at the office. Looking for jobs, listening to my relatives nag about me getting married, wondering about my future, solving friends love issues, and so it goes on, my life lately..it has left me with little time to actually come on here and post something for my beloved friends and readers :-) Oh how I have missed you but please understand that sometimes one just does not have the time, or if I may be so bold, no effort to write anything. So much goes on in my head and so little motivation to express it on paper (or blog entry hehe). One thing I must share with you is since my beloved BlackBerry Pearl broke I finally got my BlackBerry Curve 8520 and could not be happier. I felt so much more professional when it arrived, I felt like the only thing missing was a law degree and an office and I would be living my dreams hahaha...yes, I am a bit weird at the moment but I will blame it on fatigue and heatstroke from the computer. After a long day of anger I think my body and mind are going on strike, which leads to this: incomprehensive blog entry! So before I make a bigger fool of myself I will say; goodnight, sleep tight, dont let the bedbugs bite!
(Check out my beloved phone! I'm so happy, feel like a kid in a candyshop for the first time hihi)
Until later my precious readers!

just another day in dreary Sweden

I was reading the blog of Malin Åkerman's sister, Jennifer, and her life in LA. I have to say that my heart literally aches when I read it. I don't know why I keep doing it but seeing the pictures just brings back memories of life there. I miss my sweet sweet friends, life in school, swimming in pools, clubbing in West Hollywood, visiting the wonderful museums, trying to find a great restaurant with delicious food, having lunch w cocktails and sooooooo much more!!!! S. is going back to LA with her whole family to walk the stage and get her diploma, can't say I am not jealous and wish I was going there too, but life needs to continue in boring Sweden with weather that can't make up its blimey mind! One day it's sunny and warm the next it's snowy and ice-cold...ugh. I am thinking of applying to San Diego University School of Law and S. is thinking of applying to San Diego University for spring 2011. Time is fleeting and I am spending it by applying, I'll be like 100 years old when I finally start Law School and a part of me wonders if it is all worth it. All my friends are moving on with their lives, getting married, working on their careers, traveling, just living life, and me? I'm stuck in the house I grew up in with no idea of what is going to happen in the future...BALLS!!

Anyways, the daily agenda awaits me so I need to get started instead of wasting it by crying about what has been. I want all of you wonderful friends in LA to know that I miss you immensely and hope to one day be able to see you again.

Until later

Bad, sad, and busy

Easter is approaching fast and I have to get paper eggs to fill with candy, find a nice top to wear with my skirt (which I hope still fits!), as well as maintain UNICEF schedule. It is crazy crazy!! and on top of that I got a denial from 2 law schools, one of them I applied to last year send the exakt same letter as last year, meaning that they did not even read it. I just don't know how to break the news to my parents. Not wanting to think about the negative I am focusing on UNICEF and Easter. Gonna head out to church tomorrow morning, and then to the office, to later meet up with my group. I need to shower now and take Nala out so I can finally go to sleep!!

(A typical Swedish easter egg with yummy Swedish candy. Happy to be making 5 of them!)

Until later sweethearts
